The Ghigau is a Cherokee prestigious title meaning ‘ beloved woman’ or ‘ war woman’ and was a title of recognition for those women that exhibited great heroism on the battlefield.

We felt the unusual design and finish of this beautiful piece deserved a name with significant impact just like it’s title.

The Ghigau is made using a thick hand cut 20 mm wide Italian leather band topped with a 10 mm leather strip adorned with 8 gorgeous sparkling rhinestones.

A beautiful large fan shaped arrangement of beautiful ring neck pheasant feathers crowns the centre of the band and in addition two further smaller arrangements are spaced equally either side.

Antique brass d rings are fixed either end of the band further embossed with our stag head emblem.
3mm round leather lacing threads through each d ring allowing an adjustment to suit any hat size.

The ends of the leather lacing are threaded with an antique brass Tibetan bead, a gold bead, and a primer removed from a spent shell adding to the extraordinarily unique finishing touch.

The Ghigau is elegant, exquisite and exceptionally charming with a unique design and will blend with any colour fedora or wide brimmed hat.
