This motion is referred to as swirl; and our engineers not only managed to develop a head that yields greater volumetric efficiency than the factory Duramax head; but we did so with a swirl ratio similar to that of the factory to ensure a complete and clean burn to meet the stringent diesel emissions requirements. The result is a 50-state emissions-legal cylinder head for the 6.6L Duramax that lets you turn up the turbo boost because it is no longer the restriction in the system.
