Lovely sounding classical guitar from one of the county's most respected luthiers.  Byers has been making high quality and innovative guitars since the 1980s and his instruments have been played by well-known guitarists such as Dabvid Russell and David Tanenbaum.  This example from Byers earlier work is the 15th guitar he constructed and hails from 1986.  Is is made of East Indian Rosewood and Engleman Spruce.  At the time, Byers was using a metal pin system at the bridge which he abandoned later in favor of a more traditional bridge design.  This guitar was converted back to the more traditional design by Byers himself when the instrument came back for service many years ago.  At the time, Byers also installed a blended microphone/transducer pickup system at the request of the owner and we believe he also planed the front of the bridge for action and repaired a small fracture in the wing of the bridge.  This guitar was lovingly played for may years.  It remains in good playing condition but does show minor wear and small marks and a significant play-wear area on the back at the small bout (see photos).  The action sits slightly higher than average at about 4.3 mm at the bass side and 3.25 mm at the treble side.  But for those players who seek a slightly higher action on their classical, this is an ideal choice for quality and tone.  Comes with hard case.
