In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic television show Good Times, I created Sweet Prince of the Ghetto, a painting that honors both the beloved character JJ Evans and the late great artist Ernie Barnes. This piece captures JJ in his element, sitting at his easel in the Evans family's living room, which doubled as his art studio. Dressed in his trademark denim fisherman hat, matching jean outfit, black dress boots, and a red turtleneck, JJ is focused and determined as he recreates one of Erine Barnes' most famous works- The Sugar Shack -featured in the show's end credits.
