The Rohde & Schwarz R&S FPL1000 is a signal and spectrum analyzer offered in two models: the R&S FPL1003, covering 5 kHz to 3 GHz, and the R&S FPL1007, covering 5 kHz to 7.5 GHz. Both models are built on a common platform with a 10.1-inch (21 cm) WXGA color LC TFT display at 1280 x 800 resolution, a 50 ohm N-female RF input, and a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz.
Beyond core spectrum measurements, the platform can be extended with licensed application packages that the analyzer supports as separately ordered software options. These include an EMI measurement application, a phase noise measurement application, noise figure and gain measurements, AM/FM/PM demodulation, vector signal analysis, BER measurements with PRBS data, and power sensor measurement with R&S NRP-series sensors. Each application is a separate firmware license rather than a base-unit feature, so the measurement set can be tailored to the work at hand.
ValueTronics stocks and holds the R&S FPL1000 in our own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois, keeping inventory on hand so customers work directly with a company that controls its own stock.
Rohde & Schwarz is an independent, privately held company headquartered in Munich, Germany, founded more than 80 years ago. It has operated continuously under the Rohde & Schwarz name, with no major corporate rebranding or acquisition-driven name changes.
The R&S FPL1000 family comprises two signal and spectrum analyzer models built on a shared platform. The R&S FPL1003 covers 5 kHz to 3 GHz, and the R&S FPL1007 extends the upper frequency limit to 7.5 GHz. Both models share the same display, connectivity, RF input, frequency resolution, and option ecosystem.
Because the two models differ primarily in frequency coverage, the choice between them is driven by the highest frequency a given application needs to measure. The comparison table below lists the specifications that distinguish the models.
Each new model below is its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Select the model whose frequency coverage and installed options fit your application, then review its specifications and availability on that page.
The defining difference across the family is upper frequency limit: the R&S FPL1003 reaches 3 GHz, while the R&S FPL1007 reaches 7.5 GHz. The internal generator option is also model-specific, ordered as R&S FPL1-B9 to match the host analyzer's frequency range.
Aside from frequency coverage, the two models share their core architecture: the same 0.01 Hz frequency resolution, resolution-bandwidth ranges, display, data storage, and interface set. Optional capabilities such as the OCXO reference, RF preamplifier, 40 MHz analysis bandwidth, internal battery, and the licensed measurement applications apply across both models. See the comparison table for the model-by-model specifications.

Important: Maximum input levels: 50 V DC; 30 dBm (1 W) CW RF power at RF attenuation >= 10 dB, or 20 dBm (0.1 W) at 0 dB RF attenuation.
Important: Internal lithium-ion battery packs (R&S®FPL1-B31 / R&S®FPL1-Z4) should be stored in an environment with low humidity, free from corrosive gas, at a recommended temperature range below +21 °C. Extended exposure to temperatures above +45 °C could degrade battery performance and life.
Recommended pairing: the optional noise figure and gain measurement application (R&S FPL1-K30) works with the R&S FS-SNS18 or FS-SNS26 smart noise sources listed among the recommended extras.
