Ruby-red. Roasted plum, toffee, game and nutty oak on the nose. Lush, fat and stuffed with fruit. A wonderfully pliant 2002 with noteworthy density and richness. Sound acids and suave but firm-edged tannins give this excellent balance. Finishes very long and ripe. This is even stronger than it appeared to be from barrel last spring. -- Stephen Tanzer
