Three Blue Lines is part of the first release in my ceramic tile painting series. This abstract, textured piece grew out of my love of the variances in heavy handmade textiles — and perhaps the quiet influence of an African cotton cloth that lives in my studio, draped casually over the couch. This wall art piece is almost black and tan warp and weft with denim blue accent stiches.

A small nod to pattern, fabric, and the way inspiration often lingers in the background.

To elevate and display the work, each piece is mounted on brass and held with small hammered brass claws, reminiscent of jewelry.

These first editions mark the beginning of an ongoing series of tile paintings, where ceramic and drawing meet in sculptural relief. Each is one of it's kind.
