The Swan — though it may look more like a swan at rest… or perhaps even a goose. No matter. Art belongs, in the end, to the viewer’s experience of it.

This matte black and white ceramic wall tile is inspired by the gestural ink drawings I love to make, translated into clay where the marks feel both spontaneous and tactile. 

To elevate and display the work, each piece is mounted on a solid sheet of brass and held with small hammered brass claws, reminiscent of jewelry.

These first editions mark the beginning of an ongoing series of tile paintings, where ceramic and drawing meet in sculptural relief. Each is one of its kind.
