A very finely preserved record of a mid-19th century debate which purported to be the "end of the argument," regarding Universal Reconciliation, or, as it has come to be called today,
Christian Universalism . . . with content also related to Conditionalism and Annihilationism. Since it has re-emerged over the last few years to the center stage of Evangelical conversion, we'll probably need to push back on the "end of the argument" title for the book.
Published by Austin and those of the traditional position, refuting ultimate reconciliation, etc.
[Universal Reconciliation, Christian Universalism, Hell and Annihilation] Comfort. S. End of the Argument for Free Believing: A Review of Rev. Mr. Austin's Nineteen Arguments, in a Debate with Rev. Mr. Holmes, held in December and January, 1847-8. Auburn. Wm. J. Moses. 1853. 200pp.
A very good, tidy copy with cloth having some dulling and light general wear. Text exceptionally bright, crisp, and clean.
