Never before available 8 song performance from blind harmonica wizard Sonny Terry with legendary blues guitar picker Brownie McGhee at the Ash Grove in Hollywood recorded in 1973. Features 2 bonus tracks also recorded at the Ash Grove from 1965. The acclaimed duo had a 35-year long partnership that helped define the 1960s folk/blues revival movement. On the movie screen they appeared together in the Steve Martin's movie "The Jerk". Sonny was featured in Steven Spielberg's "The Color Purple" and Brownie in "Angel Heart". In 1982 they were acknowledged with the National Endowment for the Arts Heritage Fellowship award. The RSD exclusive is pressed on purple grape vinyl.
