Combining traditional and modern methods of mirror making, Lattice incorporates layers of semi-transparent enamel that have been reverse glass painted onto a marquetry of individually shaped glass pieces. Through extensive preparatory drawings and watercolour studies, UK-based artist Elizabeth Kent synthesises the shifting interactions of natural forms, sunlight, and shadows, resulting in a graphic composition characterised by a soothing colour palette.

Elizabeth's artwork visually oscillates between surface and depth, light, and painted form. Inspired by natural forms and reflectivity, her optically engaging pieces can activate a space with reflected light and invite viewer participation.
