The Big Circus Flying Pig is a performance work of art created to be featured in the UK TV series, Matt Baker’s Travels in the Country: USA. The show is produced by Matt's production company, Big Circus Media. UK viewers (or those with VPN's configured for the UK) can stream Episode 6 featuring Ventana and this board here.

We incorporated black walnut and poplar on the bottom deck and the fin. These beautifully grained pieces are offcuts from the creation of a previous surfboard. On this side, we've included abalone and mother of pearl inlay above the tail.

The mother of pearl is surrounded by ebony, and both come from an offcut provided to us by Santa Cruz Guitar Company.

The tail block, vent plug, and leash plug are made of oak that was recovered from a bog in Cambridge Fens, England. It has been carbon dated at approximately 5000-years-old. This storied wood was donated to us by REpercussion Drums in Glastonbury Tors, England. The leash plug has a small abalone inlay under the leash bar.
