In educational settings the robust 4 mm front connectors are designed to survive generations of students, and the short-circuit-proof outputs protect the instrument during early hands-on work. For applications that require the user to vary voltage or current during a test sequence — for example to simulate the different charging conditions of a battery — the EasyArb function allows time/voltage or time/current sequences to be programmed manually or via the external interfaces. When the instrument is destined for a rack, remote control and rack integration round out its suitability for system use.

Because every channel is galvanically isolated and earth-free, the channels can be combined to drive bipolar circuitries that need, for example, +12 V/-12 V, while avoiding ground problems in complex DUTs.
