The Gertrude Gilet is a snug little wardrobe essential - the perfect body warmer for layering through the seasons. Designed to slip easily over tees and sweatshirts, it also layers neatly under jackets for extra cosiness on cooler days. Ideal for those in-between times when the weather can’t quite make up its mind, this versatile piece is practical, comfortable, and endlessly wearable.

Suggested Fabrics: This gilet is suitable to be made up in cuddly knitted Boucle or 'Poodle' fabrics, Teddy Sherpa fleece or Curly sheep fabrics, alternatively woven fabrics are also suitable with or without a lining. If using a woven fabric aim for a slightly heavier weight and a double sided fabric is preferable. Fiona recommends using bought binding when using woven fabric, with stretch fabrics its best to use self-made binding cut across the horizontal width of the fabric. 

Sizing: Size range is small (UK 8-10), Medium (UK 12-14), Large (UK 16-18), X-Large (20-22) and XX-L (24-26).

• 4 x 20-25mm buttons
• Optional bias binding
• Matching thread

Ability: Easy (if you have previous experience attaching binding its an advantage, if not, I advise practising on a scrap of fabric beforehand).
