Launched in 1957, the Conquest was one of Longines flagship watches of the 1960s and interestingly was the first model to be included in a 'family' or 'line' of watches which was certainly a development strategy on the part of the brand.
The Conquest was superseded by the Flagship line, then Admiral or Grand Prize, however, the Conquest line has remained reassuringly recognisable with its understated style and uncompromising elegance.
Although originally the Conquest was considered a sports watch, as denoted by the waterproof engraving on the case back, this particular watch would now cross over easily (and stylishly) into a great everyday wearer/dress watch.
