Will this work on the passenger side?

No. This is driver-side only. The switch assembly is configured for the left door. You'll need a passenger-side switch for the right door.

Do I need special tools or a professional to install it?

Pop the door panel, unplug the old switch from the electrical connector, and push the new one in. Basic hand tools to remove door trim panel clips. Most owners do this in 15 minutes.

What if the window still doesn't work after I swap the switch?
