Kakkonto with Magnolia Flower is a traditional Japanese formula based on Kakkonto with added Cnidium and Magnolia Flower. It is used in Japan for conditions such as rhinitis, nasal congestion, and sinusitis. Also known by its Chinese name Gegentang (葛根汤).

Nasal congestion can result from allergens, cold exposure, or viral infections. This formula is indicated for relief of nasal congestion and related symptoms in these contexts, including prolonged or chronic rhinitis and sinusitis.

Ingredients
Daily adult dose: 12 tablets (310 mg each) contains:

• Kakkonto with Magnolia Flower Extract (half dose) … 2,350 mg
  (Extracted from: Kudzu Root 2.0 g, Ephedra 2.0 g, Jujube 1.5 g, Cnidium 1.5 g, Magnolia Flower 1.5 g, Cinnamon Bark 1.0 g, Peony Root 1.0 g, Licorice 1.0 g, Ginger 0.5 g)

Excipients/Additives: Hydroxypropyl cellulose, Crospovidone, Cross-linked CMC-Na, Magnesium stearate, Silicon dioxide, Cellulose

Dosage and Administration
Take with water or warm water, 3 times a day before or between meals:

• Adults (15 years and older): 4 tablets per dose
• Children 7–14 years: 3 tablets per dose
• Children 5–6 years: 2 tablets per dose
• Children under 5 years: Do not use

• Skin: rash, redness, itching
• Digestive system: nausea, loss of appetite, stomach discomfort

In rare cases, the following serious symptoms may occur. If they do, seek medical attention immediately:

Pseudoaldosteronism / Myopathy: Weakness, numbness, stiffness, or tightness in the limbs, accompanied by fatigue or muscle pain, gradually worsening over time.
