RARE 60s MIGNON EVENING DRESS

A rare & spectacular vintage 60s Mignon evening dress, made of high quality lurex in an exquisite baroque paisley & circle pattern. The dress has a fitted bodice with A-line skirt, and features a high waist, long pleat down the front, ruffled V-neckline, bracelet sleeves with snap cuffs, dark brown velvet trim, and fantastic scalloped hem. It closes with a rear zipper. The fabric is done in an outer shell of metallic gold & silver with champagne embroidery, and has a dark brown silk voile backing that shows through creating a wonderful sense of depth & richness. Designer info: There isn’t much info online about Vincent Mignon although he’s recently gained in popularity among vintage collectors, and his incredible evening dresses speak for themselves. He’s known for dressing the Nixon ladies in the 50s & 60s, and was the focus of an ad by Lord & Taylor which described his dresses as a “magnificent collection of exquisite evening fashions."
