Moracin O is a 2-arylbenzofuran isolated from the Mori Cortex Radicis. Moracin O exhibits potent in vitro inhibitory activity against hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1). Moracin O reduces oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Moracin O has neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.

How to use
In Vitro:
Moracin O enhances cell viability in dose-dependent manner against oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced cell death in neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells with an EC50 value of 12.6 μM. Moracin O reduces ROS production in OGD-induced cell death (IC50 value of 0.3 μM). Moracin O protects neuronal cell death against the oxidative stress induced by OGD.
