The Victron Skylla-TG 24/50 is a high-power, three-phase compatible battery charger designed for 24V battery banks at up to 50A output. The (1+1) configuration means a second output is available for a smaller, independent battery bank, making it well suited to commercial vehicles, marine vessels, and industrial installations where dual battery systems are common.
The Skylla-TG range sits at the professional end of Victron's charger lineup. The 24/50 model delivers 50A to the primary battery bank, which is sufficient to recharge a substantial 24V bank within a reasonable timeframe even in high-demand applications. The (1+1) designation refers to the dual-output capability: the primary output handles the main bank, while the second output provides a lower-current charge to an auxiliary or starter battery. Both outputs are independently regulated.
The adaptive charge algorithm adjusts absorption time based on the actual state of the battery, rather than running a fixed timed cycle. This means a deeply discharged battery receives a full, thorough charge, while a battery that is already partially charged is not overcharged. The storage mode reduces float voltage further when the charger detects the battery has not been drawn on for an extended period, reducing electrolyte loss and grid stress in long-term standby installations.
VE.Can connectivity allows the Skylla-TG to be monitored and configured remotely via a GX device or the Victron Connect app when used with appropriate hardware. This is particularly useful in installations where the charger is not easily accessible, such as in a machinery bay or below deck on a vessel.

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or marine electrical engineer familiar with battery charging systems. Ensure the AC supply is correctly fused and that cable sizing on both the AC input and DC output sides is appropriate for the current ratings involved. The (1+1) dual output must be wired to separate, isolated battery banks. For marine installations, comply with applicable NMEA or flag-state wiring standards. If integrating with a Victron GX device via VE.Can, ensure correct termination resistors are fitted at each end of the CAN bus.
