Etched Carnelian beads originate from the Indus Valley Civilization. They are created by drawing patterns on carnelian stones using a natron solution derived from plants, and then baking them at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. These beads have also been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, although it is believed that they were transported from the Indus River region through land and sea routes.
